Abstract:

A sustainable supply of raw materials has a concern for manufacturing companies. Due to the increase of environmental and social awareness, selecting a sustainable supplier has been one of the priorities of organizations. The ambiguity and uncertainty in decision making have led to the application of decision-making methods in uncertainty situations. The present study intends to use a fuzzy multi-criteria hybrid approach to provide a decision model for evaluating and selecting sustainable suppliers. For this purpose, in the first step, by reviewing previous researches, effective indicators of selecting sustainable suppliers have been considered then using Fuzzy Delphi method, the indicators were screened from the viewpoint of experts. In the next step, with the help of the intuitionistic fuzzy best worst method, the weight of each indicator was extracted. In the following, the intuitionistic fuzzy VIKOR approach was used to evaluate existing suppliers. In order to verify the capability of the proposed model, a real study was conducted in the lead-acid batteries production industry. Finally, by analyzing the sensitivity and comparing the results of the model with the intuitionistic fuzzy TOPSIS approach, the efficiency of the proposed approach was evaluated.

Selecting the Best Materials in the Manufacture of Automotive Polymer Parts with a Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Approach

Material selection is a complex issue in product design and development in a variety of engineering applications. Due to the intervention of multiple criteria related to material selection alternatives, manufacturers need the support of transparent tools to consider all criteria and goals at the same time to make complex decisions. The present research tries to provide a scientific algorithm fo...

A hybrid intuitionistic fuzzy multi-criteria group decision making approach for supplier selection

Due to the increasing competition of globalization, selection of the most appropriate supplier is one of the key factors for asupply chain management’s success. Due to conflicting evaluations and insufficient information about the criteria, Intuitionisticfuzzy sets (IFSs) considered as animpressive tool and utilized to specify the relative importance of the criteria. The aim of this paper is to...

A Multi-Criteria Intuitionistic Fuzzy Group Decision Making Method for Supplier Selection with VIKOR Method

Supplier selection, the process of finding the right suppliers who are able to provide the buyer with the right quality products and/or services at the right price, at the right time and in the right quantities, is one of the most critical activities for establishing an effective supply chain, and is typically a multi-criteria group decision problem. In many practical situations, there usually ...

SHAPLEY FUNCTION BASED INTERVAL-VALUED INTUITIONISTIC FUZZY VIKOR TECHNIQUE FOR CORRELATIVE MULTI-CRITERIA DECISION MAKING PROBLEMS

Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy set (IVIFS) has developed to cope with the uncertainty of imprecise human thinking. In the present communication, new entropy and similarity measures for IVIFSs based on exponential function are presented and compared with the existing measures. Numerical results reveal that the proposed information measures attain the higher association with the existing me...
